Project Municipal Park Renovations

KMB received a Cigarette Litter Prevention Program grant from Keep America Beautiful to assist with the ongoing Park Renovations project KMB will partner with the City of Bastrop on several projects in the community, such as supporting the enforcement of local litter ordinances, with reference to cigarette litter.  KMB would like to raise awareness so that everyone will know that cigarette butts are litter too!  KMB will place approximately 15 cigarette receptacles, paid for with the grant, at the main entrances of Carter Park, Dotson Park and East Madison Park.  The project is scheduled to be completed by June 1, 2013/

Project Free Dumpsters

Keep Morehouse Beautiful partnered with the City of Bastrop to bring the Free Dumpsters project back to the community in 2013.  The even, has been held since 2007.  Five 30-yard waste dumpsters, free of charge to the public.  A very worthwhile project

Project Tire Recycling

Waste tire collection is always available during the Free Dumpster event.  Each resident is allowed to bring 5 passenger tires per day.  The event is held for 2 days and is held at the former Ditto Apparel plant on Kammell Street.

Project Main Corridor Cleanup

As part of KMB's Main Corridor Cleanup project, we recently partnered with the property owners of the Bush Family home to demolish the house at 1801 West Madison.  The home has been vacant for several years.

This was the seventh demolition that KMB has helped to make possible, as part of the Main Corridor Cleanup project.  Six of these demolitions were on West Madison.

On the horizon...the demolition of two more buildings located on New Monroe Road.  It is already on the schedule.
